Sub regions of images may easily be defined and analyzed using the ROI tool. Single pixel, lines, rectangular box,
arbitrary user defined ROIs and automatic threshold driven segmentation (figure D). Multiple images may measured
at once: for example in a time resolved image series the pixel intensity vs. time can be plotted, as in figure E. Pixel statistics and regions
areas are displayed and may be saved into a file for export to graphing, spreadsheet or statistical analysis programs. Figure D.
Using the ROI tool to automatically segment and measure a region if ischemic tissue in the brain of an acute stroke patient. The T2 and diffusion images are shown (top) and the calculated diffusion (ADC)
images (bottom) made using the image fitting tool. Here the lesion has been defined based on the reduced ADC
values in the synthesized diffusion image. The user defined a small 'seed' region within the brain stroke lesion and the MRVision expanded this ROI out to the edges. |
